Brainstorm!

HEY GUYS!!!

Dave Foley is going to be on Sci-Fi tonight on the show, Stargate Atlantis!
I've got to say I'm a BIG fan of SGA and I've been excited about this episode for some time now!

Here's the trailer for it.

Also, some images from this episode, can be found here including one with Dave Foley and David Hewlett. Two of the best Daves I know. :)

So check out the episode Tonight at 9 on Sci-Fi!

The guys have posted something!

Hey guys! The Kids in the Hall have posted two new clips on their MySpace. Though I should post them here as well.

They are hilarious!

Faux Pas

Nope, I've not forgotten about the blog. I've got a lot of work stuff going on right now which is keeping me busy.

I'm just doing an update for today to say HEY and post a link. I'm not sure when I'll be back daily, or with the number of videos on YouTube it may be every other day, but I will keep you updated.

For now here's an interview with Kevin and Dave about a current KITH show going on in Vegas.

And to go with it a clip that the interview included that Kevin suggested. Enjoy!

We'll be right back after these short messages...

Short break!

I've been pretty busy recently and the blog has been a bit erratic.

I'm going to take a few days to re-group, and then I'll be back.
Until that time, HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Kevin's "Answering machine!" line cracks me up! These two were a couple on another sketch. Poor kids, seems they can't get it together.

Career-Ending Moments in Show-biz

This is the second part in a three part sketch, but I can't find the other two.

I've been waiting for someone to upload this one. The quote, "You thanked Hitler." is never far from my lips. Dave's appearance on Stargate Atlantis should be coming up soon. I'll be sure to let you know when. I must say though... I'm glad he's not going to wear that dress. :)

This one is WONDERFUL! I guess it's pretty obvious by now that my humor is pretty dark, so it should be no surprise that I love this sketch!

Unlucky Man

So I just got back from my first rugby game in years, and I wanted to post some sort of sport clip. It seems the Kids in the Hall didn't do many sport related clips, BUT this one has a girl's basketball team in it... and because I play on a women's rugby team, I considered it close enough.

So here ya go... Wonder if Kevin hurt his head at all falling backwards.

Tarzan

Ahhhh the Sonny and Cher sketch! This one cracks me up. Yay for sellout jokes!
ALSO Chris Bellemi is the guy who gets fired. I don't know if you remember, but he's the guy who got fired time and again in a previous post. "Tape! Sticky on one side not on the other." Remember?

Last night I watched Blast from the Past. If you've yet to see it... check it out! Dave is great.

What Is The Fatman Doing Across The Road

Kevin has said that his humor with Mark is a little odd, even for the rest of the guys. I think this is a good example of that humor. For those of you that don't know... watch out, they're gonna sing!

Bad Doctor: Swastika

Recently I started watching Oz, and for those of you who have seen it... this was the first thing I thought of when Beecher was branded.
There was a kid in middle school with me who would draw swastikas on his notebooks. The teacher told him to turn them into windows. He was an odd boy. Enjoy!

The Clown

I wonder who played the clown... Watch the end. The clown goes for a hand shake, and Dave plays with the dog instead. He blanked him! I'm sure it was unintentional, but he blanked him all the same! :) Nice to see Danny Husk again. Poor guy.

Writer's Struggle

I like this one. If only for the lighting and the use of Black and White. I know it's not the usual thing to love Kids in the Hall for their shooting styles, but there are times that they have some fantastic shots or in this case that Film Noir feeling.

Darryl: The Experiment

So I'm posting another Darryl video because he's not my favorite character, but there are times when he really cracks me up.
In my opinion Mark comes up with the most 'in depth' characters. Apparently he really liked getting into the mind of the characters, but he hated costume fittings. He would tell them what the character needed but he hated the whole costume practice. Dave on the other hand says that near the end he would just walk in and ask the costume ladies to come up with an outfit for his character.

Mr. Heavyfoot Puts On His Pants

Dave was walking around pretending to be a guy with really heavy feet, and someone said, 'That should be a character.' and so, Mr. Heavyfoot was born. I adore this character. He's so sweet and you can't help but pity him, but he keeps going. Good man.

Painting With Your Inner Child

Oh Darryl... there is SO much wrong with him. If you saw the Kids in the Hall sketch they did live where Kathie and Cathy meet up after years and talk about Meth, Daryl was the waiter. For some reason I find that really amusing.

Well, I completely forgot to post yesterday! So, I'm doing two today that go together.

In other news, we're getting closer to Dave Foley being on Stargate Atlantis, which is exciting, and if you are on the live journal group kidsinthehall you'll have seen that he was given a ticket for jaywalking. Poor Dave.

I'm using the YouTube title for this one cause I'm away from home, and I have no idea what the title is... so if you know... Comment!

She's Gone

I'm in Las Vegas, editing interviews from the Blogworld Expo! So far it's been very busy, and so my post is a bit later than I like for it to be, BUT, it's here now!

I don't really have a comment that would add anything to this sketch... I just wonder why they didn't use one of the guys for the woman. Maybe the other guys didn't like it.

Well, it's post 101. As you read this I'll be flying over your heads, (if you live somewhere between Lexington and Atlanta, or Atlanta and Las Vegas) watching a random film on my way to a conference for work.

So I tried to find a sketch that had some mention of travel...
This is a great one. One I really could watch time and again.

The Bass Player

Guess what... today is the 100th post!

That's right, so far there have been 100 Kids in the Hall posts, and it doesn't look like we'll be running out of clips any time soon!

So in honor of this day, I'm going to post a sketch staring my favorite Kid, Kevin, with a special guest spot by Bruce, the blog reader's favorite Kid in the Hall!

So thank you for the comments, and the poll votes! Keep checking Kids In The Hall Clip of the Day for more clips and KITH bits.

Yes Dear

Poor Mark. You can't help but feel bad for him in this sketch. But I don't know what's worse... his sad face or Kevin's voice for the bird. :)

Yes Dear

Today we have a BONUS clip. The Kids In The Hall recently got a star on the Canadian walk of fame. After KD Lang, Scott talks to the nervous interviewer, and has Paul Bellini drifting behind him. There are also shots of the other guys at the event, though I didn't see Bruce. If you see him let me know, and I'll put his name in the tags. Is it just me or does KD Lang look like she's going to eat that little guy?

Try It Now

Well... my car broke down this weekend, and I'll need a new engine, or a new car. Is there an option C?

So today I'm posting a car clip, because I really wish I had a kid in the engine... Ha. I don't know if this is Danny or not...

Wait to hear the dog sound... that's the best part.

The King of Empty Promises

This was Kevin's favorite character to play. I like that it's the opposite of what Dave and Kevin usually play.

There are two clips in this one! So you can get all the Dean you can handle.

Also, Kevin says this character is based off of him. I hope he's just talking about being forgetful about returning things.

The Day They Switched To Decaf

I LOVE this sketch. I'm a bit of a coffee addict myself, and I can't say my reaction would be different than Cathy's.

I really like Elizabeth, the female boss character that Dave plays. She's my favorite of the secretaries because she always tries to get out of hugs or personal moments.
Tayna gets the short end in this one. She's the first to really commit to her 'quit' threat, and yet she's mocked. But that's the way of the office. Any office. :)

Sex With The Dry-Cleaner

Some of you may know that Kathie dated Mississippi Gary. I believe that was the first sketch for both of the characters, but apart from the picture of Gary on the wall at her desk Kathie never talks about him.

After watching this sketch I'm afraid that Kathie can only sleep with men that are played by Mark. :) Should Tanya watch out?

This clip has another Secretaries sketch attached. The Pig Nose one... I can't say I'm a fan of this one, but it's interesting that Dave isn't playing the boss here.

Scandalous Weekend

Well, it's another FINE Tuesday. Hope you all survived the beginning of the week.

I know I should post this one on Friday, but I have a different sketch in mind for then, so the 'weekend' sketch is on a Tuesday. Big deal.

There are a few things I really enjoy about this sketch. The first is the fact that Scott seems to like black men which has carried over into the Cathy character. Also, the dancing is fantastic!

Secretaries

The first time we see the Secretaries, Kathie and Cathy! I love these ladies.

Scott and Bruce said on one of the commentaries that they don't have chemistry together unless at least one of them is wearing a dress. Apparently they are too much man together, but Fran and Gordon are a great example of how well they can play off each other, and so is this!

So, this week will be Secretaries week! Because really... who doesn't like Kathie and Cathy?

Hotel la Rut, and Surprise!

Well, today's the day!

My favorite sketch the Kids in the Hall have ever done!
But it has a set up... Hotel La Rut!

Things that I love about this sketch.
-It has Danny Husk
-Dave's face when Mark pushes him out the door
-Kevin's voice, is the best part
-The end. The sweet, amazing, end.

I've never laughed as hard as when I first saw this sketch. Such joy.

Surprise!

ENJOY!

Office Fire

I've decided to continue from Monday with 'Office' week, so each sketch will take place in the office. The Kids in the Hall were not a fans of business men and so they are generally shown as being stupid. Very stupid.

I'm sure most of these office clips will be from an AT&Love sketch. Poor stupid, AT&Love.

This week will wrap up with my favorite sketch they ever did.

But before that...

Last Call Live

On the very last night of the tour, in Toronto, Kevin lost his voice. Kevin is my favorite Kid in the Hall, and a lot of that has to do with the voice. He sounds exactly like party horn to me in my favorite sketch, so to hear his voice like this is kinda scary.

This sketch is near the beginning of the show, and he already sounded this bad. Later in the show Kevin comes out and sings a song by himself, but (from what I heard) on the last show Dave came out and sang it because there was no way for Kevin to do it.

A cute little note: When my friends and I saw them in Nashville Dave came out and sat down upstairs during Kevin's song. He just creeped out onto the balcony and sat down near some fans.

BUT anyway, this is an amazing clip. My favorite moment is when Kevin realizes how much he's getting to Dave so he keeps saying, "Is that what you are?" and Dave replies with, "You're scaring the shit outta me!"

Those two have been doing comedy together for over 25 years I believe... and they can read each other so well.

One last thing about live shows... the best part is when Kevin cracks up. They always get him. Someone will make him break character before the show is done... and it's always amazing.

Ok, enough already, THE CLIP!

Head Crusher LIVE!

This is a treat. Good quality in both video and audio... for a live show.

At the end of the show Mark, as the Head Crusher, Mr. Tyzik lines up each of the guys and makes fun of them. It's great! Kevin talks in this one, which is funny to me because I can't remember Kevin talking, or any of them talking when I saw them. The first time it went straight through, but that was at the beginning of the tour. The second time I saw them was near the end and Kevin was making out with Mark's finger at one point... it was really... odd. But hilarious.

Gavin: Jehovah's Witnesses Live!

This is what I like to call a transition.

From Gavin week, to LIVE weekend.

This is the same sketch that I posted yesterday, but this time... It's from a live performance! It's a good if you've already seen it, because the giggling and camera shaking make it a bit hard to understand at times, but it's still worth a viewing. I can't blame the camera person, I would have been doing the same thing.

The first time I saw them I thought Kevin and Mark had put on each other's pants backstage in the dark during a quick change, but when I saw them the second time they were the same way. Now I wonder if it was a mix up and the kept it, or if it was an early idea. They really look like the other guy's pants, not just pants they made to look crazy.

Also you'll notice that Dave and Kevin switched places and that the dad isn't in this one.

Gavin: Jehovah's Witnesses Live!

Gavin: Jehovah's Witnesses

Don't know if you've ever had the pleasure of being contacted by a Jehovah's Witness... but it's pretty special. I'm always very nice because what they are doing isn't easy, and I feel bad for them sometimes because they must have so many doors slammed in their face.
Once I was so nice that the girl came back the next week and brought her whole group. I just didn't answer the door that time. To be fair, it was 9am on a Saturday and I was still in my bath robe.

Maybe if they had looked like Dave and Mark I would have let them in. :)

Gavin: Jehovah's Witnesses

And now... Richard Simmons!
When I was a kid I loved Richard Simmons, and I hate to say I still kinda do. It seems to me he and the Jehovah's Witnesses have some things in common. It's not an easy job, and he gets a lot of doors shut in his face, but he's nice. ;)
If you like Who's Line... watch this.

Gavin: Police Station

Well, it seems we'll have enough for a Gavin week, so let the crazy Bruce-child-creation-thing continue.

Also, it seems that Kevin was in more Gavin sketches than anyone else. He plays Gavin's dad, the babysitter and the police man in this one... He also plays another character Gavin interacts with in the video tomorrow.

Until then...

Gavin: Painting A Chair

Well... I think it's time to show our first Gavin clip. I don't know if there are enough Gavin clips on YouTube to do a week of them... but I think I'll try.
As a side note... the guys didn't like to do the Gavin sketches. I'm sure Bruce did... but I think he was alone in that.

And so our first...

Potato Salad

We need more Bruce, and because Bruce seems to be the king of WTF on Kids in the Hall, it only seems appropriate that we should wrap up WTF weekend with him.

This one is really odd... but I like that this woman shows up again AND has the same music. I love her hair.

Potato Salad

I can't help but see some similarities between her and the Cunningham Muffins lady. Besides the fact they are both men in drag... the voices are kinda similar and the "Potatoes!" reminds me of "_____ muffins!"

I love Shoes, but Cunningham Muffins is still my favorite.

Matchmaking

Would you LOOK at Dave's legs in this video! Holy cow. Out of my group of college friends there are only two of us who are still single and any time we all get together it becomes this thing where each girl knows a guy who would be 'just right' for me. If they ever did this... I think I would kill them.

I think it's great that Kevin's in here with this tiny part and a funny voice. I think that's Norm Hiscock one of the writers that says "I swear to God woman..."

He's really not that short... 5'6, 5'5 at the shortest... There's lots of actors the same height. Elijah Wood... Michael J. Fox is 5'4 1/2! Anyway he's got enough personality to make him 6 foot tall. :)

Blah, blah, blah... here's the video. :)

Husk Musk

Danny is going to take us on through the weekend!

Today, HUSK MUSK! Another one that a friend of my really likes. Now, I love Danny, but I'm not a big fan of sweat and so this one isn't a favorite... but shirtless Scott is never a bad thing.
Plus, bonus Gavin cameo!

Never Put Salt In Your Eyes

Yay! Danny Husk!

I love how he will show up in different sketches, including this one.

Danny was created when the guys filmed the pilot. Scott was in the suit, (Danny didn't have a mustache at that time) and started talking about how he was 'Danny Husk', but he didn't have a line, he was just walking through the scene. He kept the name and the voice he created and used the Danny Husk character in a lot of different sketches. I thought his character in Brain Candy was Danny for awhile, but it's not...

Also, this sketch was something I quoted CONSTANTLY in high school. Oh yeah... I was popular. :)

Never Put Salt In Your Eyes

And Joseph Mallozzi posted another picture of Dave Foley on the set of Stargate Atlantis today.

It's going to be very exciting.

Into The Doors

Morning!

Are you a Doors fan? Do you look closely at guys with curly hair to see if they may in fact be Jim Morrison?

Cause you should.

I'm a vinyl record fan. Each Friday I head to the local store, Pop's and generally I come out with around $20 dollars of vinyl. Now that may be $15 on a Live at Folsom Prison album in great condition and two records that have a song I like, (Year of the Cat) but nothing else I'm familiar with...

BUT if there is a doors record there it becomes close to impossible to walk away from it. There's something about the Doors on vinyl that makes everything peaceful...

Also I have that Beatles poster in the background...

Groovy Teacher

What a fantastic sketch for today!

My mother had a teacher in high school say, to the class, that don't stand so close to me was his favorite song. Kinda creepy, but I'm pretty sure that's because he didn't look like Dave Foley. :)

This is a sketch they did on stage, which is on the DVD's. Again, check them out, there's a lot of really interesting extras on there.

Francesca Fiore: Divorce Court

I adore the fact that my two favorite characters who seem to have NOTHING to do with each other are in the same sketch.

Mr. Tisane and Bruno Punch Jones!

I really don't think it could get any better.

Also... Yay Canada!

So to end our Bruce and Mark run I'm going to show a group video.

Date Negotiations

So we continue the Bruce and Mark sketches with the first from the Geralds.

And I've gotta tell you, the first time I saw this, I never expected the ending.

Date Negotiations

Also, Joseph Mallozzi recently posted this picture of Dave on his blog. He's on set with writer/director Martin Gero.

Mallozzi says this in his bog...

Sitting by the monitor was former Kids in the Hall/News Radio alum Dave Foley who, for reasons unknown, had been given a way-too-early call and was good humouredly killing time until his first scene. As we were chatting, I received a call from the production offices informing me that a network employee named Averie was a HUUUUGE Dave Foley fan and would it be possible for me to get him to sign something, anything for her? Hearing this, Dave suggesting going one better. So, I phoned up Claire at SciFi who put me through to Averie’s cell. Unfortunately, I got her voice mail. “Hi, Averie,”I greeted her. “This is Joseph Mallozzi, the show-runner of Stargate Atlantis. I hear you’re a big Dave Foley fan. Well, I have Dave Foley sitting right here.”

At which point, Dave took the phone and left his own message: “Hi, Averie. This is Dave Foley. How are you? Sorry I missed you but if you have time, swing by set. I’m here all day.”

And I capped off the message with: “Doesn’t this just call you? If you leave L.A. right now, it’ll take you maybe three hours to fly, an hour to clear customs, and then another hour traveling time to get here.”

Dave Foley = Class Act.

Apartment Games

Today we have another Mark and Bruce sketch. This craziness takes place throughout one of the episodes, but someone named TheLaughingBandit on YouTube has put them all together and uploaded them. Thank you... Bandit.

As an only child I can say that I've played a lot of odd made up games in my day, but I've got nothing on these guys. Having said that, my best friend and I use to play cup, (keeping a plastic cup in the air) for hours in college.

And yes, these are the same guys that eat Kraft Dinner every night and sing the Odeoh songs.

Cops: Holding Hands

I looked at my tags the other day and found that Mark and Bruce had fewer videos up than any of the other guys. They are currently the two favorite of the cast according to the poll to the right...

So I'm going to try and do some Mark and Bruce sketches for a few days.

The first one, Cops! Cause I love them.

Axe Murderer

Emilk666 has posted some new videos on YouTube including this one where Dave is covered in blood, in a REALLY big suit. Look, he's swimming in that thing!

These are the three Ax Murderer sketches in one video! So it's a bit long, but it's nice to see so much Dave.

I was just talking to subscription support and the guy looked at my profile and said, "I see you have a picture with you and Dave Foley." The call went really well. Thanks Dave!

Also Kevin's hands are TINY!

Dinner Party

So Kevin plays his character from Steps in this sketch, but at home, with his man. In Steps he's called Smitty, but they call him Jason in this one for most of it, but later they say Smitty.

Also, I adore Chuck in this one.

Let's face it... Kevin's face/costume in this sketch makes the whole thing perfect.

Who out there likes it?

On the plus side, it's got all the guys.

Stargate Atlantis

Hey guys, this post is for a special occasion.

I just found out Dave Foley is going to be on my favorite tv show that is still on TV. (My favorites being M*A*S*H and Firefly, and KITH, of course.)

Stargate Atlantis will have Dave Foley on sometime in the next part of the season. So it's some time off, but I'm so excited I can't contain my joy to just one post, so there you go guys! Dave Foley on Stargate Atlantis!

wow.

Fine Ham Abounds

Proof that I can post one I'm not a fan of... :)

I like Bruce, but some of the stuff he does I can't say I like... for example, Cabbage Head, Eradicator, Gavin, He's Hip He's Cool He's 45, and Bob.

That's right...

So I'll post this one... because not only does it have Bob, but it has Bob's dad, the trucker guy, who I also hate.
So to end on a positive note, things I DO like about this one.
-"The ocean Bob?"
-Nicole de Boer (She's going to be on Stargate Atlantis soon... but I like her from Cube.)
-Kevin's glasses

Fine Ham Abounds

Seriously though, I really like Bruce!

Unexperienced Cannibal

I swear that one day I'll post something that isn't "one of my favorites" but it's so hard when there are so many I love... and honestly, would you want to come to a blog where someone didn't post their favorites?

For example, this clip... I love it. When the networks chose a clip to use for an award submission, they chose this one, and the guys thought it was a bit tame.

On the commentary for this one, they make fun of Scott... that happens a lot. Dave says that's what keeps the group together. Also... is that a white guy fro?

Killed By A Lamp

Kevin is my favorite.

He's sweet, his voice is crazy, he use to be fat... he can do no wrong.

He also doesn't do a lot of monologues... but he did this one, and I think it's great.

Steps: Gay Pride Day

I've been waiting for some cop sketches to show up on YouTube. I LOVE the cops, but this one is better than just the cops because it includes the Steps guys as well.

Established characters meeting each other is always a good thing. Like Mr. Tisane and Bruno Punch Jones!

Anyway, time for

Test Tube Baby

When I look up clips to post I will have one in mind, or on days like today I just click to see what has recently been posted.

I had completely forgotten about this sketch, which is nice in some ways... let's you see it for the first time... again. :)

I've said before on here that Dave's humor is the closest to my own. I tend to laugh at his sketches more than the others because he takes these dark, morbid turns, like he did in this one.

Also, is Scott trying to look Asian?

Test Tube Baby

Hope you guys had a great weekend!

So for all the Mark fans...

Manny Coon

Recently I gave a friend of mine the first season of Kids in the Hall so he could experience the greatness. He said it was ok, until he got to this sketch, then he really thought it was funny.

SO if you have friends who seem to think it's 'just ok' try this sketch and see if it helps.

This one has a LOT of great lines. Any favorites?

Party Guest

If I had another blog of this sort it would involve The Beatles. They are my favorite band and have been for a long time. I did my honors thesis about the Beatles with the point that their timing made them popular, not their talent, that came later.

The Kids in the Hall are known for not doing media references. They don't talk about stuff going on in politics, they don't spoof celebrities, unless it's the royal family, and they generally keep away from band talk unless Bruce goes on a rant about the Doors. But thankfully they have this sketch with a Beatles reference... and it makes me happy.

My favorite line is the "pancakes and pizzas" part or "woke me up and knocked me out". Good times.

Also... Dave in glasses. Hot.

Love At First Sight

The first Buddy Cole sketch, and I have to say I think it's my favorite. There are a few others that I like, but this one is really great, and it's one of the few times I like a fart joke.

My favorite Scott sketch is also in the pilot. He plays Fran and they just found out Brain's gay. He goes on and on about being a crazy lady and I think it's hilarious. Don't get me wrong, I love Scott through all five seasons, it just seems that the pilot had my favorite moments.

Indian Woman

Today I have Indian food for lunch! Mmmm, one of my favorites.

Any other Indian food fans out there?

Anyway, because of my excitement I'm going to post this sketch where John (Scott) decides to become an Indian woman. Is it just me or does Dave seem like he's phoning in his part? Mark's in it... and he seems to be the favorite.

Scott with cows. Only good can come from this.

The Atrium

So yesterday I had a lot of rage towards someone who was, 'Mad With Power' but sadly I've posted that sketch... so I needed to find something else to show how I feel.

I've never really found this sketch funny,(though I like the ending) BUT the anger that Kevin has... I can get behind that. So I've decided to live vicariously through that character and post...

My Routine

So Mark said that he use to have a 'look' which was a red button up over a white tee shirt but he's just got a red shirt on in this one. He does wear it in Reg and a few others. You must admit though, he does look good in red... or maybe it's the jeans.

Also any sketch where Dave plays an instrument is a good thing.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Darn Near Puked

This sketch is so crazy, but really funny to me.

Also, Kevin saying "Head cheese" makes me think of the song he did on tour.

My favorite line, "I was in high school..."
"Stop I'm going to hurl."

The Pear Dream

I still don't understand why I think this is so funny, but I really do. Anyone else know what I mean? There are some times when the humor is obvious, and sometimes where things are so strange you just have to laugh. This is somewhere between the two.

And the black eyes. Some are more obvious than others... This is one of the rare times when Foley doesn't look attractive as a woman. I think it was the wig.

Chris Bellamy

So these sketches happen throughout one episode, but they have been put together by a lovely YouTube user. Poor Bellamy.

"Tape! Sticky one side, not on the other." Amazing line. One that haunts me with it's greatness! :)

Bellamy shows up in the Tarzan sketch as well, and Tarzan fires him.

It's nice to have a video with all five guys in it. I'll have to be honest here and say Bruce's characters are really hit or miss with me. I hate them or I love them, but I'm going to try and post lots of different sketches, even if I'm not a huge fan of them. But not today!

Citizen Kane

Before the Kids in the Hall had a tv show they preformed on stage. On the stage they had a limited amount of props and no sets so many of the sketches were built around simplistic ideas.

When they first got the show they brought a lot of their stage sketches into the studio, including Joymakers which I can honestly say is my favorite sketch.

This is a sketch that made that transition as well, and it may be the one that most people know them for, besides the head crusher.

So... the classic,
Citizen Kane

Mad With Power

I love this sketch, because we've all seen someone like this in our lives.

I made a Mad With Power bumper sticker on Facebook some time ago, and it still brings me joy. :)

Best line, "Are you thirsty under there Perkins?" Ahahah! And Kevin's wig. Tragic.

Hope your weekend has been great!

Today's clip features Dave as the same stupid criminal he played in the Seven Things To Do Sketch. I love the lisp he had for this character.

I'm Canadian

I realized today that I've yet to post a Buddy Cole sketch.

This is a horrible over site on my part! So judging by the poll a few Scott fans have shown up.

Welcome, and thanks for voting for him...

There's so much you can say about Buddy, like the fact that each time the guys do a tour Scott says, "I can't come up with another Buddy monologue. I just can't do it!" And all the guys say, "That's fine Scott." Within a few minutes he's back, "Ok, I've written one, and it's twelve minutes long." This story has been told by each of the guys at different times, in different ways, so I'm paraphrasing.

When I was younger I didn't 'get' the Buddy Cole stuff so I would always get upset when he would come on the TV, but now I really enjoy his monologues.

So now, one of my favorite Buddy Cole sketches.

I Speak No English

Well, the blog has officially been around for a month now, and I'm no where near running out of clips!

Today I'm posting a video that doesn't have the best quality, but this happened to me a few days ago at an Asian market in town.

The lady and I couldn't communicate so I was never able to find what I went there to buy, but I got some Pocky with a debit card. After ten minutes of unsuccessful communication she looked at me and said, 'You don't have cash?' in perfect English.

I was reminded of this sketch.

The Tea Factory

I have no idea who's posting the new videos on YouTube... but I owe them some chocolate, or a new house.

Today dear friends, I bring you Mr. Tisane. Thanks to cuatroluchos on YouTube.

Mr. Tisane and Bruno Punch Jones are my two favorite characters. I can't pick one over the other. I was overjoyed when the two appeared in a sketch together.

There was something about the little guy that stuck in my mind, and I'm sure that character has a lot to do with Kevin being my favorite Kid.

So, here it is, the first sketch with Mr. Tisane.

MacIntyre's Name

Ah Mark McKinney... you're amazing.

Mark said this was his favorite monologue, and he didn't write it. Bruce wrote this one and gave it to Mark.

My grandmother watched this one recently, and it made her smile. I think that says a lot for the Kids In The Hall.

Zombies

Well the blog has been around for a month now, which is very exciting.

I was really worried that there wouldn't be enough clips to keep it going very long, but someone has been posting newer clips on YouTube, and they keep including my favorites.

Including this one!

The Absurd Sketch

I pleased to say I own everything the Kids have put on DVD.

But I can't remember this. I don't know if I missed it, or what. Wonder who wrote it.

The Absurd Sketch

ETA: quentinchick commented:

Apparently, this is the sketch that ended the first season on TV when they really did stop the airing of Dr. Seuss Bible. I'm just bummed they didn't add it onto the DVD. It's probably one of their absolute best haha

Nutty Bunnies

Keeping with the "No Dave" think I've got going, a sketch that has everyone but Dave! Don't worry Dave, you'll be back soon enough, I can't stay away for long.

If you've not heard it, find the song, "Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits" by The Magnetic Fields. I associate it with this sketch.

Someone recently uploaded this clip.

Dr. Seuss Bible

In a earlier post I mentioned that Dave Foley had two favorite sketches.

This is the second. He got the idea when he saw that Christians were making bible comic books, or action figures etc.

And so he came up with the,

Dr. Seuss Bible

They had a lot of censorship issues with this sketch, and they had to build the crucifixion machine at night in secret.
