I ADORE this sketch. The writing. The cinematography. It's so well done. Continuing with the B&W theme, though some of this is done in color. Seriously though, an amazing sketch.

Side note: When Dave is hung upside down on the stage he is holding on with his feet because the harness had come undone.

Have been listening to the band Lawrence Arabia a lot today. If you haven't heard of them, check them out. Great lyrics, well written music and a lighthearted attitude.

Part of my job as an event coordinator at a venue is working with drag queens and I've always had an easy time of it with them. No revolts here. Girl in the sketch is fierce!

Gavin: Painting A Chair

The first Gavin sketch, and easily my favorite. Really like Mark's reactions in this one and it seems so real.

Syntax

I had forgotten about this one... If I ever date a shorter guy, I'm going to make us go as Francesca & Bruno for Halloween. Dave never looks better than when he's Bruno. *sigh*

Pet Businessman

Another great part for Kevin. Kevin's voice is unique and hilarious on it's own, but it's nice to focus on his physical mannerisms that are so funny as well. The other guys say that Kevin is the funniest because he's just naturally funny. So in this sketch he doesn't say much but he cracks me up.

Bloopers and Rape Kevin

Something fun- The Season One wrap party/bloopers tape was posted on the KITH Facebook group today. Very amusing. Love seeing the transition from the stage to the show.




And continuing with the Kevin McDonald week: Rape Kevin.
This sketch opened the tour. It would end with the guys running after Kevin onto the stage. Kevin would have an apple in his mouth and half of his clothes torn off. Good times...

Kevin McDonald Interview

Continuing with the Kevin McDonald week... (that started on Thursday).

And he talks about how Jeff Ross (the current & awesome producer of Conan O'Brien) was the producer for the first three seasons of Kids In The Hall.
I also love that when Kevin tells the story of how they all met he says it really fast.

The Beard

Another Kevin sketch. Cause he's worth a full weekend. :) Maybe I should make it Kevin week... even if it started on Thursday. That's the sort of week that should be named after Kevin, a week that starts on Thursday.

The King of Empty Promises: Prison

Kevin delives his lines as this character like Paul Bellini but it is stuff that he would do. Forget to bring things back etc. But I love the dynamic of this sketch because Kevin is the dominant character for once.

Ballet Dancer

Great article from NPR about the Kids in the Hall today.

This little blurb made me smile.

As the extras reveal, Kids was a true democracy, albeit a contentious and messy one. All the members wrote material – for themselves and each other – and each filled a critical role in the Kids' comedic attack pattern: David Foley was the comedy scholar. Bruce McCullough, the nervy iconoclast. Mark McKinney, the character specialist. Scott Thompson, the theatrical wit.
It's the goofy Kevin McDonald, though, who comes across as the glue that held the company together. A naturally gifted clown, McDonald consistently elevated the others' material with his collaborative spirit and ace improv skills.

So a clip that features some of the natural genus of Kevin McDonald.

My Trip to the Farm

Running to a meeting now. Doubt there will be any mental 'trips to the farm' though...

Side note: I'm also going to this farm while in Toronto. :)

One of the stops on the KITH tour I'm planning is the cemetery... guess I'll need to look for the BAKER headstone. This is so freakin' weird. 

Bleeding Ear

Have had a pounding headache for most of the day. Pretty sure it's on it's way out but for a minute there I was expecting blood to shoot out of my ear.

Another, 'as least I don't have that job' post. Granted there are days where I feel like killing everyone, but the cleanup aspect seems to be more work than it's worth. :)

Each Day We Work

I leave Job 1 to go to Job 2 this weekend. Then I'll spend most of Saturday at Job 2 and have a manditory meeting at Job 2 Sunday. I know it's great to have two jobs in a time where some people can't find one, but yeesh.

So that's on the brain. Which leads to this clip, cause hey, at least I'm not doing that job!
