My current job is Event Coordinator at a local venue/restaurant. Which has a lot of fun sides. I book bands I like, talk to new & interesting people, it's good.
Then, every-so-often it's a day like today. The phone hasn't stopped ringing from moment one. Lots of silly questions, weird reservations... it's been annoying.
And so, this clip, which also annoys me. I hate the sound of a ringing phone. Don't know of any who do like it... but yeah, it drives me crazy.
But there's Bellini, so that helps.

Brian's Bombshell
My computer has been broken for a week or so now, which means no internet when I get home. That also means no tv, because all of my tv viewing comes from online sites. So at some point this week I put my Kids in the Hall DVDs in and went to town. I've been watching all the commentaries, clips from the Rivoli, tour DVDs and the regular seasons.
So the obsession is back. It's hard to believe the tour was three years ago already.
To get back in the swing of things, the sketch that is becoming my overall favorite. There have always been a few sketches that are at the top. Joymakers, Comfortable and the one with Tony on the subway. But the writing in this one is just amazing. The long speech about clutching coupons for soap and crackers and hacking up blood. It's fantastic!

I spy...
Don't know if any of you caught Parks and Recreation tonight, but in the opening titles it says, "Consulting Producer: Norm Hiscock". If you aren't familiar with the name Norm was a writer for The Kids In The Hall for years and was an original member of the group "The Audience" with Bruce and Mark.
Here's a promo for the show.

Picnicface
Holy smokes... two posts in one day?
There is a sketch comedy group from Canada called Picknicface. They are currently looking for funding for their film Roller Town. The trailer came out a few days ago and it's fantastic.
You may notice a joke in there that is similar to one from Seven Things To Do.
Give it a look!
On their website FAQ they ask how the group got together and this reminded me of KITH.
A: Mark was Kyle's counselor at Improv Camp in 2004. Then Mark moved to Halifax in 2005 and Kyle gave him a half-room in his half-house. They formed Picnicface as an improv trio with Evany Rosen, performing regularly at a local college and irregularly at a punk club for upwards of 13 unimpressed regulars.
They later met Cheryl through the local stand up scene. Andy, who'd been filming his own sketches in Toronto, showed up and introduced video to the group like Prometheus introducing fire to the feral Greeks. Then came Bill "Moms Not Bombs" Wood and Scott "Thousand Jokes" Vrooman.
Nobody's sure how Brian ended up in the group. All of a sudden he was just "there."
Sounds a bit like Scott.
Dave Foley said they were, "distressingly good."
And just for a reminder...

Jesus Was A Bad Carpenter
Hello fellow fans.
The audio is a bit off on this clip but I feel it is worth posting no matter.
Dave's monologues never fail to make me laugh and this is no exception.

30 Helens Agree
So 30 Helens Agree, or as I call it, When Bruce Got It Right. I've said before on this blog that Bruce is very on-off with me. I will LOVE something he writes or hate it. These ladies, I love!
The best line has to be, "My God, your feet are what you walk on!"
Oh tiny Helen. How I love you.
My shoes of choice?
Chucks or flats. I'm 5'9 and I try to stay as short as I can.
I get my chucks from all over. California to Canada.
I get my flats from here. Natasha's Cafe.

Male Slave
Trying to get back into the grove of things here.
So here's a clip of Scott Thompson talking on a radio show about his Buddy Cole character!
Followed by a favorite sketch with Buddy. It isn't his normal monologue but the black and white film with the voice over is a perfect.
Enjoy! And hopefully the blog will be more active from now on!
