Unexperienced Cannibal

I swear that one day I'll post something that isn't "one of my favorites" but it's so hard when there are so many I love... and honestly, would you want to come to a blog where someone didn't post their favorites?

For example, this clip... I love it. When the networks chose a clip to use for an award submission, they chose this one, and the guys thought it was a bit tame.

On the commentary for this one, they make fun of Scott... that happens a lot. Dave says that's what keeps the group together. Also... is that a white guy fro?

Killed By A Lamp

Kevin is my favorite.

He's sweet, his voice is crazy, he use to be fat... he can do no wrong.

He also doesn't do a lot of monologues... but he did this one, and I think it's great.

Steps: Gay Pride Day

I've been waiting for some cop sketches to show up on YouTube. I LOVE the cops, but this one is better than just the cops because it includes the Steps guys as well.

Established characters meeting each other is always a good thing. Like Mr. Tisane and Bruno Punch Jones!

Anyway, time for

Test Tube Baby

When I look up clips to post I will have one in mind, or on days like today I just click to see what has recently been posted.

I had completely forgotten about this sketch, which is nice in some ways... let's you see it for the first time... again. :)

I've said before on here that Dave's humor is the closest to my own. I tend to laugh at his sketches more than the others because he takes these dark, morbid turns, like he did in this one.

Also, is Scott trying to look Asian?

Hope you guys had a great weekend!

Lopez

If you've never seen this episode, the 'Lopez' parts come in between different sketches, and for some reason I find Mark adorable in this.

So for all the Mark fans...

Manny Coon

Recently I gave a friend of mine the first season of Kids in the Hall so he could experience the greatness. He said it was ok, until he got to this sketch, then he really thought it was funny.

SO if you have friends who seem to think it's 'just ok' try this sketch and see if it helps.

This one has a LOT of great lines. Any favorites?

Party Guest

If I had another blog of this sort it would involve The Beatles. They are my favorite band and have been for a long time. I did my honors thesis about the Beatles with the point that their timing made them popular, not their talent, that came later.

The Kids in the Hall are known for not doing media references. They don't talk about stuff going on in politics, they don't spoof celebrities, unless it's the royal family, and they generally keep away from band talk unless Bruce goes on a rant about the Doors. But thankfully they have this sketch with a Beatles reference... and it makes me happy.

My favorite line is the "pancakes and pizzas" part or "woke me up and knocked me out". Good times.

Also... Dave in glasses. Hot.

Love At First Sight

The first Buddy Cole sketch, and I have to say I think it's my favorite. There are a few others that I like, but this one is really great, and it's one of the few times I like a fart joke.

My favorite Scott sketch is also in the pilot. He plays Fran and they just found out Brain's gay. He goes on and on about being a crazy lady and I think it's hilarious. Don't get me wrong, I love Scott through all five seasons, it just seems that the pilot had my favorite moments.

Indian Woman

Today I have Indian food for lunch! Mmmm, one of my favorites.

Any other Indian food fans out there?

Anyway, because of my excitement I'm going to post this sketch where John (Scott) decides to become an Indian woman. Is it just me or does Dave seem like he's phoning in his part? Mark's in it... and he seems to be the favorite.

Scott with cows. Only good can come from this.

The Atrium

So yesterday I had a lot of rage towards someone who was, 'Mad With Power' but sadly I've posted that sketch... so I needed to find something else to show how I feel.

I've never really found this sketch funny,(though I like the ending) BUT the anger that Kevin has... I can get behind that. So I've decided to live vicariously through that character and post...

My Routine

So Mark said that he use to have a 'look' which was a red button up over a white tee shirt but he's just got a red shirt on in this one. He does wear it in Reg and a few others. You must admit though, he does look good in red... or maybe it's the jeans.

Also any sketch where Dave plays an instrument is a good thing.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Darn Near Puked

This sketch is so crazy, but really funny to me.

Also, Kevin saying "Head cheese" makes me think of the song he did on tour.

My favorite line, "I was in high school..."
"Stop I'm going to hurl."

Kevin's Sketch

Because it's a beautiful Saturday in these parts I wanted to post a sketch by my favorite Kid in the Hall... Kevin McDonald.

Wish Scott was in it... maybe he's the mayor.

Crazy...

Bye Stan

I wish I knew something about this sketch... but I really don't.

I have no idea who wrote it or how they filmed it...
Seeing other characters as he walks though is cool.

"Have a good weekend!"

The Pear Dream

I still don't understand why I think this is so funny, but I really do. Anyone else know what I mean? There are some times when the humor is obvious, and sometimes where things are so strange you just have to laugh. This is somewhere between the two.

And the black eyes. Some are more obvious than others... This is one of the rare times when Foley doesn't look attractive as a woman. I think it was the wig.

Chris Bellamy

So these sketches happen throughout one episode, but they have been put together by a lovely YouTube user. Poor Bellamy.

"Tape! Sticky one side, not on the other." Amazing line. One that haunts me with it's greatness! :)

Bellamy shows up in the Tarzan sketch as well, and Tarzan fires him.

It's nice to have a video with all five guys in it. I'll have to be honest here and say Bruce's characters are really hit or miss with me. I hate them or I love them, but I'm going to try and post lots of different sketches, even if I'm not a huge fan of them. But not today!

Citizen Kane

Before the Kids in the Hall had a tv show they preformed on stage. On the stage they had a limited amount of props and no sets so many of the sketches were built around simplistic ideas.

When they first got the show they brought a lot of their stage sketches into the studio, including Joymakers which I can honestly say is my favorite sketch.

This is a sketch that made that transition as well, and it may be the one that most people know them for, besides the head crusher.

So... the classic,

Mad With Power

I love this sketch, because we've all seen someone like this in our lives.

I made a Mad With Power bumper sticker on Facebook some time ago, and it still brings me joy. :)

Best line, "Are you thirsty under there Perkins?" Ahahah! And Kevin's wig. Tragic.

Hitman

Hope your weekend has been great!

Today's clip features Dave as the same stupid criminal he played in the Seven Things To Do Sketch. I love the lisp he had for this character.

I'm Canadian

I realized today that I've yet to post a Buddy Cole sketch.

This is a horrible over site on my part! So judging by the poll a few Scott fans have shown up.

Welcome, and thanks for voting for him...

There's so much you can say about Buddy, like the fact that each time the guys do a tour Scott says, "I can't come up with another Buddy monologue. I just can't do it!" And all the guys say, "That's fine Scott." Within a few minutes he's back, "Ok, I've written one, and it's twelve minutes long." This story has been told by each of the guys at different times, in different ways, so I'm paraphrasing.

When I was younger I didn't 'get' the Buddy Cole stuff so I would always get upset when he would come on the TV, but now I really enjoy his monologues.

So now, one of my favorite Buddy Cole sketches.

I Speak No English

Well, the blog has officially been around for a month now, and I'm no where near running out of clips!

Today I'm posting a video that doesn't have the best quality, but this happened to me a few days ago at an Asian market in town.

The lady and I couldn't communicate so I was never able to find what I went there to buy, but I got some Pocky with a debit card. After ten minutes of unsuccessful communication she looked at me and said, 'You don't have cash?' in perfect English.

I was reminded of this sketch.

The Tea Factory

I have no idea who's posting the new videos on YouTube... but I owe them some chocolate, or a new house.

Today dear friends, I bring you Mr. Tisane. Thanks to cuatroluchos on YouTube.

Mr. Tisane and Bruno Punch Jones are my two favorite characters. I can't pick one over the other. I was overjoyed when the two appeared in a sketch together.

There was something about the little guy that stuck in my mind, and I'm sure that character has a lot to do with Kevin being my favorite Kid.

So, here it is, the first sketch with Mr. Tisane.

MacIntyre's Name

Ah Mark McKinney... you're amazing.

Mark said this was his favorite monologue, and he didn't write it. Bruce wrote this one and gave it to Mark.

My grandmother watched this one recently, and it made her smile. I think that says a lot for the Kids In The Hall.

Zombies

Well the blog has been around for a month now, which is very exciting.

I was really worried that there wouldn't be enough clips to keep it going very long, but someone has been posting newer clips on YouTube, and they keep including my favorites.

Including this one!

The Absurd Sketch

I pleased to say I own everything the Kids have put on DVD.

But I can't remember this. I don't know if I missed it, or what. Wonder who wrote it.

The Absurd Sketch

ETA: quentinchick commented:

Apparently, this is the sketch that ended the first season on TV when they really did stop the airing of Dr. Seuss Bible. I'm just bummed they didn't add it onto the DVD. It's probably one of their absolute best haha

Sick of the Swiss

I've been with friends this weekend and this sketch kept coming up, and so... even though the day is nearly over, I decided to post it.

It's time, it's time, it's time... to hate the Swiss.

Cause I'm feeling it.

They tried to make this guy a reoccurring character. But that didn't happen.

Well, it's the 4th. I was going to post the sketch that Bruce does about America... but this one is a little more amusing.

So I give you,

Nutty Bunnies

Keeping with the "No Dave" think I've got going, a sketch that has everyone but Dave! Don't worry Dave, you'll be back soon enough, I can't stay away for long.

If you've not heard it, find the song, "Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits" by The Magnetic Fields. I associate it with this sketch.

Couple Breaks Up

Not only do I not have a little fact about this video, but I don't even know it's proper name...

I've realized that Dave has taken over the past few posts, so I wanted to find a Daveless sketch.

So enjoy some Mark and Bruce!

Whole Lotta Milka

Someone recently uploaded this clip.

Whoever you are, I would like to thank you!!!

I love this one, and it was the first time I ever saw milk in a bag, which was very exciting to my young American mind. It was also the first thing I looked for when I went to Canada.
